Dan, the founder of Backyard Flare, built his custom designed fireplace and outdoor kitchen at his home in Arizona. These projects became the genesis for beginning Backyard Flare.
DIY homeowner Paul in Ohio built this gorgeous Tombstone fireplace and coupled it with a stunning pergola. He decided on a flat front instead of the TV recess and added a reclaimed wood mantel. The veneer makes the fireplace look rustic and sure amplifies the outdoor feel. Now Paul can relax and enjoy some time in front of his crackling fire. Bring on those cool nights! DIY homeowner Kim and her family in Washington state built this amazing
combo fireplace and pizza oven structure and they took the chimney to
the height of the pergola peak. On the opposite side of the patio, they
built an L-shaped outdoor kitchen with a raised bar section. The veneer
is absolutely perfect for their space and this is one outdoor
destination that will create many memories.

Randy in Illinois built this fireplace we have named The Mohave and created a piece of backyard art. The structure incorporated both lines and curves for extra appeal and the earthtone veneer was also used to accent the pergola post bases. DIY building to be proud of for sure. Very inviting space; great job Randy!
Miguel in Alabama built this great Tortolita design fireplace and added a couple wood storage voids and a taller chimney. It definitely gives his fireplace a very cool look.

Rick and Loretta in Florida built this AMAZING custom designed fireplace thus extending their living space into the outdoors. This very tall structure took a few months to finish but it turned out beautiful. With the candles and backlighting, every season is fire season.

Jim in Arizona built this custom fireplace in his backyard with a stunning golf course in the background. The fireplace was converted to natural gas which offered an instant on instant off capability. Voids on either side of the firebox added a great place for additional lighting and accent decor. David in Michigan slightly modified the chimney on this great looking Pima II design fireplace. The veneer and seating block match beautifully with the
great pine tree backdrop. The raised wood deck and overhead pergola are a

Dan with Backyard Flare built this enormous custom gas fireplace/pizza oven in Tucson, Arizona and at the same time added a retaining wall. The granite next to the pizza oven is great for rolling out the dough. The oven was built around a BrickWood Ovens foam mold.
Years ago I looked at my bare backyard and thought I should add something. I had a lot of unused space but felt trees and plants weren't what the space needed. I had seen outdoor kitchens and fireplaces in magazines and on TV and thought I would inquire with a contractor about having them built. I provided the contractors with example pictures of barbeques and fireplaces I liked and received quotes as high as $7,800 to build just the fireplace. more...
